A boomerang can return to you only when you learn to throw it in a particular fashion. One has to learn to do this, as in any sport. It is not an electronic toy that you can manipulate to do things you want it to do.
Have you tried to get a frisbee return to you by throwing it, without anybody's help to throw it back to you?
