i have friends that pierce. most of them got a job at the place first. because most places that pierce and tattoo sell things as well. like jewelery, t-shirts, bongs... whatever. then after working there and proving themselves as good employees they trained to pierce by watching the piercer and then practicing. i know after they had apprenticed they got to invite all of their friends to get pierced for free so they could practice (the shop owner and piercer was there to supervise) good luck!

For sure you will have to be an apprentice first and for a while at that the same as a tattoo artist would have to do. there is allot to learn about peircing with be sanitary and doing it correctly, plus make sure you are not squimish along with seeing blood and poking needles through folks. Talk with some peircers at local shops around and getting their opinions.

ask around to see if you can apprentice locally... there are piercing organizations that you can find online and these may give you some help too. Be prepared to apprentice and watch a lot before you do it because bad piercings can be nasty.

Go here: http://www.safepiercing.org
Find a reputable professional that will apprentice you for at least 2 years (you may have to pay for the training)

Good luck
