What if the Biblical version of God is not at all like the true Creator? What if the true Creator does not require us to follow dogma but only requires us to be good and just? What if Jesus Christ were just a man around whom a cult of divinity was created? Is this possible? If so, and it is true, would that not make zealots of all persuasions feel foolish?

What point is there in following a Supreme Being if our only job is to be good and just? We wouldn't need such a God if we could get to heaven or be honored by simply being good. In other words, the idea that morality alone is important would ultimately make God irrelevant. I could elaborate but I've answered the main question.

In all probability Jesus was a man who started a cult, just like all other religions were started. Through people who claimed to be divine, but this is not true. None are divine yet some people need some sense of reassurance that everything will be alright. I mean hell if you accept Jesus as your savior all will be forgiven right? And in the end of the world all of them will ascend to the pearly white gates of heaven while other good people go to hell. What makes someones religion the right religion? Which religion will help you to seek heaven when they all profess to be the will of God? To answers these questions you must first ask yourself who is more corrupt. Religion has been the cause of war and human abuse since before Christ. Religious figures penetrate young children and someone demands you pay for your salvation. Why then would man create a thing such as religion? Man made religion to explain things which his eyes or mind could not. After all we fear what we do not understand. Only through elaborate fiction may we put our worries to rest. And when someone else opposed their beliefs someone had to die. The so called divine could not be seen for who they really are. They use religion to manipulate people. Even today the Jesus freaks and the flag suckers unite to lead some sort of christian jihad against an unidentifiable enemy. Its time people put things aside and looked for answers elsewhere. Don't denounce reality, use your knowledge to make it better. No one is going to save us. We stand utterly alone in this kingdom of fear where there is no such thing as paranoia only ignorance. Freedom was a thing of the past, the only freedom you need seek now is freedom from dumbness. Make your own choices through knowledge and make a difference.

If a Creator does exist, I can only hope that it is not the God of the Bible (or the god of any other monotheistic religions.) If we were created by a being who created us solely for his pleasure, if we suffer and die only so he has something to do, I think we're all pretty much ******.

I do not believe in God, but if a supreme being does exist, I can only trust that it created me as I am for a reason and that it would want me to be nothing other than what I am.

By definition, all zealots are fools, but low intelligence prohibits them from ever realizing it.

And, which of the Bible’s gods do you mean:

---- the Old Testament conservative republican capitalist god who is mean, selfish, spoiled, sadistic, and hates all of humanity, or

---- the New Testament liberal democrat socialist God is who is all about love, forgiveness, and just trying to get though live doing the best you can by helping your fellow man?

Are you good and just? Have you ever lied? Have you ever disrespected your parents? Have you ever said a bad word? Have you ever had lustful thoughts about a person that is not your spouse? Have you ever taken anything that did not belong to you?

If you are honest, you will say that of course I've lied or taken something or said something or did something my parents disapproved of.

No one is good - every single one of us has fallen short of perfection. If it were possible to live a perfect life, then you would have no need for the saving grace of Jesus.
