Terrorism isn't small pox. You can't eradicate it from the world. Compare it to the war on drugs. It's impossible to win. It is a war on terror, but it simply can not be won.

If we believe that there is a true war against Terror, the USA will win it easily if it keeps its own business and respects the opinions of people and their right to live freely.
I don't believe that there is a war on Terrror. It's just a lie to convince people and to justify the U.S invasion in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Then, how can a country like USA be an anti-terrorism country??
Don't you see that there isn't any kind of harmony between its acts and its promises???? For example, they promised all the nations to spread the democracy in their countries. But when the Palestinians elected Hamas democratically the USA opposed that and stopped the funds. Another reason, USA is supplying Israel with internationally forbidden weapons which are used -in deed- to kill innocent people in Gaza.

When dealing with a situation such as this, you really only have two choices:
Do whatever it takes to completely eradicate the enemy, which no one ever does,or come to a peaceful resolution through dialogue.
As long as no one is willing to do what is necessary to achieve victory against any enemy, then we must find a political solution. We must identify the reasons that these things are happening and address those issues.I'm not even sure that will work though. No matter what, there will probably always be someone who wants to hate, terrorize, intimidate, kill, and generally just do whatever they want to do in order to achieve their objectives. There is something to be said for some of that though. For instance,if I were to be put in charge of our military forces,we would be victorious without a doubt, and in record time. However,no one in their right minds would be pleased with my methods. It's not my job to be popular though, only to win.
I'm doing what I can.
On a lighter note, eventually this whole thing will pass, and the world will be a better, more stable place for it.More people will have more freedom and a better life for themselves and their families.
A lot of things are going to happen for a long time to come, but if we can manage to keep from destroying this planet, eventually things will be very good here, trust me.
Relax,Daddy's got this...

The War against Terrorism is something we will still be actively fighting for years and years to come. The answers previous tend to blame George Bush for nearly all of the world's ills (and he certainly hasn't done much to improve the situation lately) but terrorism has been around for a long time. It seems as though this breed of muslim terrorists have shown considerable resolve to put up with horrible conditions and seem not to care about the fate of the muslim world as a whole, so long as they can fight their personal jihad. The fact being that their personal situations would be greatly enhanced if they abandoned policies of insurgency and sectarian violence. Unfortunately, it's difficult to reason with the madmen. So we'll just keep killing and kidnapping them. Maybe it's just me but I like the policy of extrordinary renditions...In the words of Vice President Al Gore on the legality of snatching up an Egyptian mujahdeen..."That's a no-brainer. Of course it's a violation of international law, that's why it's a covert action. The guy is a terrorist. Go grab his ***."

Personally, I do not believe that their is a war of terror. I believe that it is just a cover up so that the people of America will not know what is truly going on in front of our own faces. And to be quite frank, all of the politicians are wonderful con artists and I can't wait until I recieve my degree so I can be truthful with the people of America and more so of the world.

I believe that this is the war the US will not win and that the Holy War was declared which regardless of religion is that last war.I believe in revelations 17-22 that America is the her referred to, though it says Babylon, Ironically they just said on c-span like five mnutes ago that our troops out there are now in ancient Babylon turf.No other Nation caused more devastation then this one and that is a fact. That is not to say all Americans are bad, we'll just be casualities like the civilians in every country we invaded and tried to "help". Iran will continue to help Iraq, because we are aiding Iraq and they can receive goods as can neighboring countries who will barder with Iran " sanctions" imposed or not Iran will continue there nuclear plan.

It is not matter of time. The question should be, what will make terrorism stop? A foreign policy like George Bush has not done nothing to stop, but in my opinion it provoke more to terrorism. You stop him (I'm glad now democrate has a say) and the Israel presiden then you can stop terrorism. Why there is terrorism? Mostly due to unsatisfaction.

There will always be terrorists, but the best bet for controlling the groups we're worried about now would be somewhere between thirty years and forever, depending on how serious we are about it. Of course, that presupposes we have fewer than 800 deaths a year, or choose to tolerate that level of casualties. Counterinsurgency operations typically take ten to thirty years, but are geographically circumscribed. International networks will probably be trickier to deal with, and take longer.

It's unwinnable like the war on drugs because it can have no final objectives and it will breed further terror as we see in Iraq.
