OK. I will explain this to you, because I am a math major. There are four ways to pick one marble from group A. I assume you know how to figure that out.

Think about group B. There are four ways to pick the first marble, and THREE ways to pick the second one (because the first one isn't there anymore). Therefore you have twelve ways to pick two marbles from group B.

OH, I forgot something. Because the order of picking the marbles doesn't matter for group B, you have only half the possibilities. (That is, if you pick marble 4 first and marble 2 second, that's the same as picking marble 2 first and marble 4 second for the purposes of the problem. Likewise for every other combination, to yield only six possibilities.) So you have six possibilites from that group (like everyone else who broke out their calculators is saying), and 6*4, or 24 possible ways to pick your three marbles. Sorry, it's 1:00 in the morning here and I'm tired.

The formula is nCr = n!/((n-r)!r!) in case you need to know. Multiply that by r! to get nPr. You need to use it twice, with a simple product to figure out the result (because you have two groups). Good night!

just pick 1 from group A and 2 from group B!
"I don't remember the formula but one from 4 means 4 possibilities. 2 from 4 means 6 possibilities
24"
24 is the answer!
The formula is " C14C42=(4×1)×(4×3÷2)=24 "
is not "P14P24==(4×1)×(4×3)=48" because of picking but compositor

From A you have four choices
1, 2, 3, or 4
from B you have 6 choices
1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-3, 2-4. and 3-4.
Total combinations is 24.
