i recently enrolled into new university in a different continent,so am miles away from home,got all the freedom I could want,problem is am one persoon who depends on external motivation to keep am with school and without it I slip,so how can i get myself motivated and eager to hit the books hard enough?

try keeping it at intervals. study hard for 5-10 minutes and then go out for some fresh air and then go back to studying maybe a chapter or two until you feel you need air, then step outside again. if you do this right, your stay inside will be longer every time and you will be able to hang in there for longer periods of time

If you need external motivation then a study group or a study partner would help you immensely. But look for a study group with high standards, so they will definitely want to study and not just socialize.

Here is one way: If you find it hard to concentrate try snacking on some protein-rich foods. Foods like cheese (stick with low-fat kinds), soy products, and lean poultry are great for making you feel alert, energized, and ready to take on the day. Nibble on some low-cal string cheese, a veggie burger, or some boneless, skinless chicken breast. You may be thinking more clearly in no time. '

What works for me is coffee, and taking clean-air breaks. Not breaking to watch TV or surf the 'net, mind you - just looking out the window or spacing out some other way.
