I know that we actually won California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. But i think we should have taken more land of them! The U.S. needs to be bigger for 300 million people!

Honestly, I think it would have been better for this country if we had, during the War of 1812, not signed a peace treaty until we had taken over Canada from the British and, during the 1850s Mexican War, just taken over all of Mexico. Just think, by 2006, all of North America would be modernized and integrated and we'd all be happy campers.
Or not. It didn't happen, so who knows?
Its impossible now. So lets just try to deal with the situation at hand.

First of all the US won nothing from Mexico, Mexico sold territory to the US. Thats why the US did not take more land from Mexico. The only state that declared its own independence was Texas. I believe you should say nothing about illegal immigrants if you know nothing about history.
