I'm looking to start competing in mma. Does anyone know of any good associations or organizations within the Fort Scott, Ks area? Kansas City (ks or mo, either one) or Joplin, mo would also be within my range. Thanks.

Checkout the the ISCF's Web site (www.iscfmma.com). It's the sister organization to IKF (International Kickboxing Federation). They'll list events across the nation. Also, check the forums at www.bullshido.net. for local events and meetups.

If you train hard then 25 is more then possible start time in MMA . Block Lesnar was in his late 20's when he made his UFC debut only a year or two after his fight MMA fight. Couture and Shamrock are still Fighting pushing 40 and 50. You need to put a lot of effort, that age gives you a disadvantage in terms of less of your 'prime' years to fight in MMA but it that is all it will give you.
