The easiest way to check is to look at the CD/DVD drive in the CPU case. it should written like CD-RW or DVD-R/RW etc.

If DVD-RW is written, then only you can burn DVD. otherwise not. if DVD-R is written, you can only play DVD but can't burn.

If CD-RW is written, then you can burn CD.

Another way to check: right click on mycompuericon>properties>hardware>devicemanager>DVD/CD-ROM drives> it will show the drive type and model.

Now, standard CD-R media can hold roughly 700MB of space. So, you can actually burn quite large files. In fact many movies can be burned in to one or two Cds if they are in the Mpeg or other compatible format(not in DVD format).
One CD is roughly about 80min duration.

Hope it helps.

Well as u said, u need a DVD Burner installed on ur system. You can purchase one or if you have only a CD burner, you can burn any type of files onto CD`s. For huge files ( size > 700MB) you will have to use a DVD or split the file and burn it onto many CD`s. I would suggest buying a DVD Writer as it has become the standard ot today!!

You need a DVD burner, or a combined one that burns Cds and DVDs. They are cheap to buy if you live in England, around £36. You also need a programme such as Nero 7 Suite.
You can bur photographs onto CD, not sure about video though.

most of the replies so a procedures would desire to do with the capability or materials of your computer. on the same time because it particularly is significant to the reaction of the appliance which you're utilising, it is not as significant because of the fact the Buffer below-run characteristic on your dvd burner frequently generally happening as Burn-information. very very nearly all burners have the characteristic now. if your burner does not have it then utilising yet another application on the same time as burning a disc would reason the burn to fail. The operation which will likely reason the burn to fail is something that motives use of the troublesome tension, it particularly is because of the fact the burning application is examining the documents off the disk at a rather intense fee.

You need a DVD burner (writer) and a program that should come with when you got your computer or if you had to install the software on your own.
