And would Jesus be proud of us spending so much money on material things in honor of his birth?

If you are not realizing what you are celebrating you should know that it's the birth of Christ that we are celebrating. You are right that the gifts have gotten out of hand.

No it is the time when everyone celebrates the death and ressurection of the sun god Baal. Christmas means, merry death of Christ, so it is also simultaniously a celebration of the appearant death of the 2 witness. Most of what is called christianity is false, christmas and easter are both pagan celebrations of what are called sabats in witchcraft. Groundhogs day is another as well as halloween. If you want to know about the truth of this ask any astrologer. Jesus is coming soon to judge all of this witchcraft done in his name. Jesus said, " Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not the things that I say?" And again, " not all who cry Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven."

Negative. Christmas is when everyone celebrates an ancient observance of the Winter Solstice without realizing it. Well, not everyone, but an awful lot of them don't know the holiday is based on pagan traditions.

Mostly it is not in honour of his birth. It is a ' Holiday". Pagens buy gifts too.I have celebrated CHRISTmas. My cards say " Christmas is a time for remembering that God keeps his promises, that miricles come true" on the inside it says " May you know the inexplicible, undeniable and all inclusive love of God. forever and ever Amen".

Actually Christmas traditions mostly follow from old pagan ones that were followed before Europe was Christian!!!

That tree? Can you spell D-R-U-I-D.

So in effect, you are following pagan rituals without realizing it.

Jesus proud? Well, I think, if you are christian, you know he kind of looks at your overall behavior all the time and forgives you for much of it.

I'm a Christian and I don't celebrate Christmas. It's a pagan holiday twisted into Christianity. Jesus would never approve such celebrations.

Well, Christmas was not the real day of Christs birthday, its just the day the roman emperor of that time decided to place that day one

no, Christmas is not a Christian holiday in the first place - a little research and reading the Bible will make this obvious

Welllll. We make a cake for Jesus and such. It's not all about gifts, though I'll admit a majority of it is. But we make a cake for it and pray. It's fun. =)
