Price around £5000, needs to be sporty looking, fast but has to be a bit practical!!!!

A mint Nissan 300ZX circa 1995 would be good looking, fast, reasonably practical, altho big passengers wont enjoy the rear seat for long. Definately collectible. Would make for a stunning european tour. 5k is plenty for a nice used ride in the UK. And as the previous poster said, test test and test again - drive plenty, dont commit to owning right after driving, give yourself some time to digest it all.

Maybe try to find a older model Morgan(nice). Or you could at least test drive a TVR cerbera(very nice). But if you want sporty and affordability check out some of the British versions of American cars. I like the Ford Focus its much better than the American model and can be tuned to go very fast. But my best advise is test drive, test drive, test drive.

Do you all (In the UK) actually use the word sporty? I see something pink and convertible in your future.
