I saw something on Food Network once, I think it was an episode of "Unwrapped", or an episode of "The Secret Life Of..." where they went to an ice cream factory and it was pointed out that the "dough" in "cookie dough" ice cream CANNOT be used to make cookies.
Two of the previous answerers were correct in saying the cookie dough lacks eggs and baking soda, which helps in the baking process.

I don't know, it might work. The secret to the raw cookie dough in ice cream is that they use pasteurized eggs to prevent salmonella from the raw eggs you would normally use to bake cookies. As far as I know, the rest of the ingredients are pretty much standard. Try it and let us know!! LOL

No. The cookie dough does not contain eggs. Consuming raw eggs is dangerous and that is why you normally should not eat cookie dough (although it never stopped me! yum!). In order to be able to safely consume cookie dough in ice cream, they leave out the eggs.

no, becuase most cookie dough ice cream is laking eggs in the cookie dough mix. So it would not be possible to make cookies out of the cookie dough in the ice cream
