years? You think people would lost interest in something that doesn't work. I saw a site that sells a bunch of spells and one is a spell for legal cases and that explains OJ Simpson.

Most people don't believe in spells. The people that DO cast spells believe in them. They may not work to the extent that YOU think they should work but to the person that cast them, they find little things to please them about the cast as if it did work.~

When we direct energy with intent, work can be accomplished. This is mostly seen in technology, but occaisionally spells work or seem to work also. Why, no one knows. There are all sorts of interersting things people can do with energy that science cannot yet explain. Several hundred years ago electricity was a mystery; perhaps in a hundred years or so we'll understand more about the energy that can be exerted thru the human mind, that we now call "psychic" for want of a better word. Why doesn't it always work? Perhaps every now and then the worker hits the right combination of energy and intent. Or maybe it's just a matter of random reinforcement.

Most people don't believe in spells because most people are not witches or wizards. Simple as that. Same as saying that most people don't believe in prayer. Both spells and prayers work in somewhat the same way. The human mind has the ability to do great things. For a Christian God helps. For a pagan the universe helps.

A lot of people don't believe in the power of prayer but people still do it.

Why do us Wiccans cast spells, because we do believe they work and have seen them work for us. Now mind you, everything you have seen/read in Harry Potter, Buffy, Charmed, etc at nausea is about as far away from magick as you can get. Magick works for us and that is why we still do it and will continue to.

Spells are about as successful as prayer is. So why are people still praying?

I'm not wiccan, although it has been my experience that spells/rituals work best on the unsuspecting individual.
