First and foremost, use proper grammar and good spelling, or he won't respect you.

It depends on his interests, if you know what they are. Try to tie them into the message. For example if he is a Star Trek nerd, then you could say something like:

"Perhaps you don't remember me, but I am that foxy chick you saw at the Nebulon 5 Convention last week. Every time I see you, you space me out. Nano nano!!"

If you are brave enough, you can quote this verse word for word, and if you pull it off, you deserve a gold medal.

You don't really need to try to be funny when asking out a guy. He will appreciate you for being interested in him, and no doubt he will reciprocate.

All the best.

First of all, you can't even spell so I wouldn't do the text message thing. Have you read your own question? You butcher the English language like it's raw meat. It's not exactly cute. In fact, it makes you look like you can't write. It makes you look bad. Second, you don't introduce yourself through a text messenger. You just call him up or say hello in person. It's not rocket science here. Save the text messenger thing for down the road when you know each other better. For now, stick to the traditional method of just saying hello in person or over the phone.

hmmm... i think whatever you say in text will sound like your stalking (unless you are in the philippines then even if you are already stalking someone through text it will still be just sound normal here)

anyway, i would suggest something like:

"Hi, dis s ________, we'v met b4 during ________. sorry f i dsturbed u, jst wondring f we cud b textmates :) "

(TEXTMATES=a term for FRIENDS via Text Messaging in the Philippines)

something short and direct but at the same time friendly and approachable. a good thing about asking to be textmates is that really few people (except mean and jerks) neglect anybody who wants to be friends with them.

a thing about making textmates is that you cant introduce or let other people know you with just one text. it will take time before they get to know you. i suggest starting with being textmates and be just friends. a con for text messaging is that you can keep your identity, and really think (at least even for a few sec) of what msgs you can give.... by the way, how did you get his number? i suggest to be honest with this one if he asks you where did you get his number (coz if you start lying, sometime soon it will get you in a really BIG TROUBLE coz they can store your msgs.).

g'luck!

PS

by the way, sometimes when we text we cut the words into smaller words making the words wrong spelling so that we could send more thoughts in one setting. kind of cool coz you can make your messages as if in a coded language... like m8=MATE or forbidden fruit=4BIDENFRUT...

If you don't know the guy well, and he doesn't really know you, your best bet is to NOT text him....unless HE gave you his number. Then maybe you can say, "Hey! It's me (your name). Don't get freaked out! Just wanna say that I know we don't talk much, so I wanted to know if you wanna hang out sometime." Better yet, you should invite him to study (if he's in a class of yours). You said you have a lot in common, so you should probably say something about one of your interests. For example, if you like basketball or something you could say, "Hey! It's so-and-so. I know we don't talk, but just wanted to know if you wanted to watch the next game together! Maybe there'll be another Knicks fight!" Or something along those lines.

If you got his number from a neutral friend, ask that person to be your wingman, and you all could hang out together and talk to him so he'll find out what a cool person you are.

Best of luck!

Texting is very impersonal. You can't introduce yourself in person?
Is this an online thing? If he doesn't know you, how do you have alot in common?
How do you know the guy? That would help.

"Hey remember that really sexy chick that you met at on . Well I've heard she thinks you're hot. You should give her a call sometime on this number. ;-p

hm thats a toughie, well say "hi ______ we've talked a few times, you might not remeber me but i just wanted to say hello" then this will intrest him and he will wonder who you are and then a conversation wil develop. Don't tell him you like him soo soon off the bat. Goodluck!

Dude don't just send him a text message saying you like him. That is the right way to go. you need to get to know him first. then you tell him that you like him. and texting him that you like him isnt a good way to tell him. i would prefer telling him in person.

Sorry but if he doesn't know you he will just scratch his head and wonder who the text message is from.

Get to know him better first.
