That's right. The Bible was not written as a set of God's rules. It is simply a compilation of stories that depict the relationships between God and Individuals.
Some shallow thinkers have concluded the Bible is a set of (dictator-like) rules or requirements.
The Bible is simply a story of creation, followed by stories of people inspired by God's love, and ultimately being offered God's eternal love. Their success and their love of God paralleled each other like a roller coaster ride. In all the stories, God gave (us) freedom of choice to apply or reject his principles of harmony.
That's why you and I are not forced to accept or deny God's sales pitch or even that God exists.

John 1:1 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Man gave the title, "Bible", to the Word of God. The Bible was written by man under the divine inspiration of God. God wrote the Bible through man, but He wrote it.

"All Scripture is inspired by God ..." (2 Timothy 3:16)
In this case, the meaning of inspire is "to breathe into." This verse can be compared with another passage that tells us how the Bible was written: "... men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God" (2 Peter 1:21). Together, the verses reveal God breathed out His words and the Spirit communicated them to men chosen by God. The men wrote these thoughts down in human words. The Spirit made sure no errors were made in the process and preserved it through time .

You can't find it there... (this is the Bible and authored by God)
maybe just something that it is the word of God or would i explicitly say, inspired by God...
Need i say more?
well the bible is the compilation of stories, songs, accounts and many more pertaining to the relation made between God and Man and those people whom have experienced God. Songs of praises and even lamentation towards God. Accounts of the Apostle, and stories and parables...

Nowhere.
At one point it defines that scriptures are inspired by God, and in Revelations (Rev 22:18-19) it specifies what happens to those who add or subtract (implied from Revelations, but somehow extended to the whole bible).
What you want to do is research the history of the Christian Fundamentalism movement in America.
They came up with a list of beliefs that a church had to agree to in order to be a part of their group and have a share in their moneys, and one of them is that the Bible is literally true and written by God.

Jesus said to the devil in matthew; " man does not live by bread alone but by EVERY WORD OF GOD " common sense will tell you that the words are written down directly thru his prophets. God in exodus wrote the ten commandments with His finger on stone in mt. sianai. If you read all the old testament you will see God will intervene with prophets to warn people their twisting the word. Jerimiah said "the Lord has not sent you" etc.......

Great question.
It's a book that :
Nobody knows who wrote it,
when it was written,
how many authors ,
over what length of time it was written,
where one author stops and another takes over,
whether it was written for entertainment ,or education, and yet millions of people claim they KNOW that it is ALL true.
You can excuse those poor, half-civilized people from two thousand years ago for believing the writing , but the people of today,--Why???
