Yes the scripture says, "and they will CALL him Immanuel" (Matthew 1:23 & Isaish 7:14) but in Matthew 1:21 the angel specifically says, "you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.". So for people who thing the gospel writers screwed up by naming him Jesus and not Immanuel, it was actually the angel who said to name him Jesus supposedly, so its not like Mary and Joseph didn't like the name Immanuel and chose something else. Furthermore, do Christians today not call Jesus Immanuel? Thing of all those hymns and Christmas carols at church that call him Immanuel. So since Christians call Jesus Immanuel, that prophesy is fulfilled.

because most likely, Jesus was never called Immanuel.
Also, notice how Matthew changes the wording of the passage as it was found in the Old Testament. For example, the OT says "She will call him Immanuel." But the NT switches it to "THEY will call...." Because it was clear that Mary didn't call him Immanuel, she called him Yeshua. But when you switch it to "they" then it can mean whoever.

Well Immanuel means "God with us". So we may not actually say Immanuel, but when we talk about Jesus we say that He (God) came to earth to be with us. "God with us"-"Immanuel".
