You're confusing Judaism with Islam. Rabbi-s can drink (tho they stress moderation).
Was Jesus a Rabbi? Now remember that in order to be a Rabbi, you have to be married, and you have to have attended Yeshiva (Hebrew School) for seven years.

Luke 5:27-39 implies that He knows a lot about how people treat wine....

Luke 7: 33-34 implies by its use of 'drinking' and 'drunkard' that the drink involved was wine.

John 2:1-11 shows Him transforming water into wine, and I wonder if He would transform water into anything that He did not know throughly....

And for all those saying that the wine back then was just grape juice.....sorry, you're partly right, the reason they mixed wine with the not-so-clean water was that it contained alcohol and thus killed alot of the bacteria. The thing is, they had no way to keep grape juice from becoming wine or vinegar. It might not be what a modern vintner would call wine, but no-one would accuse him of being a 'drunkard' otherwise. All the way back to Noah they knew what the effect of wine was.....

Well, I am pretty sure that rabbis and priests can drink. And Jesus wasn't an official rabbi, so far as we know. My NIV Bible has his followers calling him "rabbi," but it's just how they referred to him as their teacher. Perhaps someone who knows more about Judaism/Hebrew can explain that more fully.

Jesus turns water into wine in John 2:1-11.

Jesus drank wine at the last supper. Matthew 26:27-29, Mark 14:24-25, Luke 22:17-22.

Jesus drank wine. It wasn't just a feel-good drink back then like it is nowadays. Alcohol was a common daily beverage because the water wasn't always good. Jesus went to parties, turned water into wine, served wine to his disciples at the Last Supper.

And at my church they still use watered-down wine as the blood of Christ and the priest drinks from the cup.

The wine back then is what we know as juice today. Bottling companies weren't introduced yet, who would want to drink sour mold infested beverages. And the portrait of the last supper is something that DaVinci interpreted out of his mind that the government back then would allow, remember DaVinci didn't attend the last supper he was born in the 1400's long after the event and so the portrait of the last supper is only his interpretation. But yes, he did consume liquids.

Jesus drank wine, swore and had sex with Mary Magdeline and produced a child. No scripture will ever tell you any of that. Jesus was human. Give him a break.

I'm sure He did. And Paul said drink a glass of wine every night for your health.

And science is now saying that moderate drinking is good for you.
