the couple had been having fidelity problems and had spent time several months apart. No one liked the 'bride' because of what she had done to the groom. All of a sudden...they got married and he told no one until after the fact. What's your take on this 'secret' wedding??

They didn't tell anyone because they didn't want everyone to know, plain and simple. i wouldn't have told anyone either had everyone hated the person i was marrying.

First off as everyone has pointed out, it was their business and they probably didn't want to hear any of the negativity about the whole thing. Also, weddings can be very stressful to plan. the more people there the more money spent and the more of a pain in the *** it becomes. When you actually plan out a wedding everyone wants to put in their two cents and "help". They probably, just wanted to get married with out all the drama and stress of those things as well as not wanting to hear everyone say it was a mistake. The groom knows about the fidelity problems, he knows what he is getting into, but he still married her and that choice should be respected no matter what your opinion is. If he's making a mistake he'll figure it out in his own time. In the mean time grin and bear it and at least be civil to the bride for your buddies sake would be my suggestion.

He didn't want you to know so you wouldn't cause a scene at their wedding because you hate the bride. It was an act of protection.

If I had to guess, he probably didn't want anyone to try and talk him out of it, and he probably didn't want to hear anyone else's opinions that he'd already heard by that point. He must really love her, regardless of what she put him through if he was still willing to marry her.

I would say this is their business. Maybe "everyone" was 'wrong' about the bride.
Their business

Maybe because it was their business and private.
Look what happened when he told you about the
infidelity, your still running your mouth.
They don't owe you anything.

Maybe he didnt' want to get her angry and her hating his friends. Maybe he was thinking his friends would forgive him.
