Nowhere. He didn't discuss building houses, barns or shops, either. He assumed His followers would have a little common sense.

Excellent question. In fact it was forbidden for the disciples to set up a memorial on the spot where Moses and Elija visited Him when He was transfigured. He also caused an earthquake and the veil of the temple to be rent from top to bottom. Hmm! The early Christians met in the existing synagogues but nothing on the order of the old temple system was instituted after His death since the ceremonial was done away with, nailed to the cross. I don't think it was an issue for them to meet in their homes. I'm sure open air meetings were nice but He also taught in synagogues. I think if the people want to build a building to meet in, it should be a choice and a luxury they afford themselves, not an all out palacial thing where they are begging for money and calling it "a work of the Lord" to pay for expensive things. Jesus never used offerings for any extravagances to live like a king in this world. He kept Himself humble and is our example. Someone always lent or gave or He just created miracles to meet the needs of His ministry. How else could the seventy go out without purse or script or staff and come back and answer Him that they had not lacked for anything? Because the just shall live by faith, not by begging money from God's people. It should always be given voluntarily to the church and distributed to the necessities of the saints first and the other poor and needy in the community next, even if that includes the elders of each church. Personally, I remember the brush arbors and outdoor campmeetings with smelly outdoor toilets and mosquitoes and the straw on the ground. God can still move if we enjoy indoor plumbing and padded pews unless we are thinking we are rich and increased in goods and have need of nothing and show respector of persons while neglecting to love the poor person next to us. Keep things in a balanced perspective as Jesus did but don't get so comfortable in the church and in your fancy clothing, cars, and homes that you forget your priorities and that you should support those worthy to live of the gospel who are sacrificing in the mission fields or other works or be too proud to get in the gutters ones own self to help the wounded fellow on the road or to carry the gospel. Charity solves all of it. A fancy building is no indication of how spiritual the people are. The poor trust in the Lord.

The first Christian churches met in homes. As Christianity spread and became more mainstream, buildings were necessary to hold the services/sermon.
If you have a negative attitude towards mega church buildings, I can understand. However, we are so blessed in our country to have the opportunity to find a variety of churches in any city, no matter how small.

Jesus was against a structured church, he saw them as just another money making scam, he believed that as a gathering everyone could share and learn rather than have one man preach their form of doctrine. Think about this, how many times is Jesus the one actually doing the preaching? In church all the readings are from his apostles or followers interpretting Jesus' actions, not reitterrating what he said. The church system is all "f'd" up and it won't ever change unfortunately.

It goes back to David and Solomon, then Cyrus of Persia, in the old testament, when the Temple was built and rebuilt.

Jesus always appreciated his Father's house.

Chruch buildings today honor God and are practical places for the congregation to come together for worship and for other good purposes.

Where in the bible did Jesus decide to allow people to post questions on the internet?

Nowhere...He wandered all around the country, and taught under the open sky.

Saul was the one into building churches (along with writing letters).
