Not into that kind of stuff at all but I just saw a question about Hitler and saw a thing on myspace about the Nazi's practices with the occult. Anyway, I was wondering if the Necronomicon was just a legend or a real book. The interesting thing is that while H.P. Lovecraft was supposed to have invented the word and the legend several sources have claimed it or SOMETHING LIKE IT as a truth. Opinions?

Yes, the Necronomicon does exist. However, being a Pagan knowing what it is capable of I would HIGHLY suggest you don't try to read it.

This book has been considered so powerful and effective that some people, even the author of the Necronomicon itself, Abdul Alhazred , are known to go crazy.

However, If you feel bold, I would suggest reading the Book of Lies beforehand so that you know exactly what you are doing. It may be powerful enough to cause Armageddon with all the magick intentions instilled into it...

Let's just say this. I will never read that book. I never made it past the first page before I got scared, and I normally don't get scared.

No. The Necronomicon replaced right into a creation of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, a prolific horror author of the Thirties. It appeared in countless his extraordinary memories. approximately 30 years in the past, a e book writer provided a Necronomicon in a deluxe leather-based-certain version. i don't know what its contents have been.

There has been a version on the market fro quite some time that has been reputed to ba translation of the original. I can only that I have known people that have had some result for some of the workings. Whether that is the result of the information in the book, or the general result of following normal magical preoceedures I cannot say. I can only say that I have had some interesting experiences with the magic in it, in fact I will be working some in a few hours.....real or not...the magic works and ultimately THAT is all that really matters.

I actually own it. Well a copy of it. It was written i Damascus in the 18th century by Abdul alhazred. Actually Lovecraft denied its existence but it has resurfaced.

Sure does. I have a copy. I bought it because I had to do a paper on it for a ministry class. Some kooky stuff in there, I'll say that much.
