kill all people who worship God by means of images? It made it clear that this was a command for all time to come, and that it applied to absolutely anyone, anywhere, who worshiped God through an image.

What would you do?

This question was hypothetical. I did not mean to imply that such a verse was in the Bible. There is one that is similar, but not just like I said.

Meditate, try to reconcile this with my image of a God of love, who teaches me not to judge anyone else or anyone else's behavior,,, and if my understanding did not become clear, I would read thru the gospels paying attention only to the words of Jesus, and when the comforter comes to me, have it clarify my understanding yet again.

I'd kick the bible in the fire! Man, it was supposed to teach me about tolerance, not killing others that worship God by means of images! I just don't think it's right to worship the images, it's ok if the person uses it as remembrance!

Why? Does the bible say anything like that? You're religious majors study person (sorry for that confusion=)
so yes, you would know!

There are passages in OT to for example talk about stoning mediums(psychic). So n e way i would not kill anyone since i dont believe in the bible any way. Im not sure if there is one about images.

Well, disregard it. You have to keep in mind that the Bible was written centuries ago! Back then, religion was a huge deal...and that was probably seen as acceptable. Now, however, I guess you should translate it to current terms. Killing someone today...well, that might not blow over so well.

I knew that verse and i'm not even Christian, but check this out...

Deu 20:10 Before you attack a town that is far from your land, offer peace to the people who live there. If they surrender and open their town gates, they will become your slaves. But if they reject your offer of peace and try to fight, surround their town and attack. Then, after the LORD helps you capture it, kill all the men. Take the women and children as slaves and keep the livestock and everything else of value.

Same with what i always do, read all the passage and see what the whole passage means...

It quite seems funny how people seem ti think that a single passage is the whole book...

I've read it at least eight times cover to cover in various versions. Relax - it isn't there.
What would you do if you came face to face with the God of the Bible and He asked you what you've been up to?

I have never really been a fan of violent fiction novels. I would probably put the book down at that moment.

its the bible, its so full of stuff like that, nearly two millenia of editing still miss stuff.
besides, most people don't really read the bible even if they are christian, and others are very, well, lets say selective.
