The book claimed to be written by God Himself. It was proven to have been written 4000 years ago, and yet the book contained all kinds of scientific facts in it that no one could have possibly known back then. It contained true prophecy. It even foretold that there would be a "Yahoo Answers" one day, and it even contained your own name in it, when you were born, and facts about you that you haven't even told anyone.
But the book, claiming to be the words of God, said to slaughter all babies born with blue eyes. It said that every time someone hiccupped in public to chain them up and burn off their toenails. And other cruel things.
What would you do with this book?
Would you think it was from God?
Why or why not.
This is obviously a purely hypothetical question.

One should go against god, if he says to do something against humanity. God never wants us to do that, so, anything which says that sort of things should be discards. Wise will do. I dont know about stupids, who folllow idiots blindly.

Although, I would accept as wise any book that derided people with blue eyes (since we all know the ones with green eyes are superior in every way...). It would be impossible to believe that a God authored such a book. For the simple reason that no God could ever find Yahoo Answers significant enough to write about.

Hey' we already have that book.
My family keeps birth dates in the front page.
I ain't got time to read it, but if that's what it says, I,m on my way to get those blue-eyed brats and them lousy hiccuppers so as I can do cruel things to their toenails.
Cheeze, what a great book.
P.S.--you got a chain and some matches I can use?

You can Judge Gods work by what already exists. If it is in perfect harmony with the other standard works like the bible then you could be assured it was from God. Your hypothetical book is not in harmony with the other standard works by the killing of innocent children there by rendering it a book that is most likely from Satan.

I would read it. Just because it has prophecies in it dont mean its from a good god. So no i would not kill any children if God wants to kill children he can do it him self. If he wants me to do it my suggestion to him is to send me to hell.

I don't think this is a hypothetical question, I think it is a trick question to either try to discredit the Bible or God or both. I have heard these accusations before from people that don't understand the Bible or God and are not really looking for the truth but are trying to establish their own truth.

I completely understand the point you are trying to make, but I wonder how many others will? Especially those who most need to understand it!

I'd read it! But I would have a cynical attitude, and look for hints of fakery.
