Yes. Mine is causing weight loss. People say it's supposed to level out after about five pounds or so and you may put the weight back on. Same with Prozac like someone else mentioned.

The SSRI's (zoloft, lexapro, celexa, etc) are the ones that usually make people more hungry, so they tend to eat more and then gain weight. They usually don't case major weight gain. It's the anit-psychotics that cause a lot of weight gain.

I've been having a great deal of weight loss on the Wellbutrin. I've been trying to get it to stop and I think it's starting to slow down but I'm still losing. If you lose weight make sure to tell your prescribing doc. It's important to keep an eye on.

I am losing weight. Have been on wellbutrin sr for almost 2 weeks and abilify for only a few days...but I have already lost about 6 lbs. And it isn't water weight or anything(as I am drinking tons of the stuff) and I am not overweight (5'7"-126lbs). Plus one of the side effects that wellbutrin seems to have is weight loss. Not too sure about other meds out there tho, been a long time since I have been on any. But I am not too worried about the weight loss unless I get under 120.

It really depends on the particular med. Wellbutrin and I think Prozac can cause some weight loss although in both cases it's moderate and tends to level off after awhile. Others can cause some weight gain.

As a secondary cause almost all depression causes changes in eating habits. Some people eat more when depressed and others eat less. As the depression lifts eating habits return to "normal" levels and this can cause a gain or loss.

Normally with depression it is just the other way around. At one time I was on "Zyprexia" and gained over fifty-pounds. My normal weight around 173. I got up to 227, and with the other meds I was taking had to get off all drugs (prescription) and seek another Dr.

I am, I was on one that made me gain weight, but now I'm on some that make you lose weight. Best thing to do is to make sure you eat healthy and regularly even if you lose your appetite.

Swap a bowl of pasta for just a bowl of vegetables. You can preserve to 200 calories by slicing the starch and adding vegetables.

Be a kid all over again! When eating out, order a new child’s sandwich, pizza or cheese burger. Then you can have the treats you adore, while reducing your portions and lowering your calorie intake.
