Back in March, I was charged with an OWVI. I attened a class and they instructor told us that we weren't allowed into Canada with a DUI/DWI without paying a fine. He never said anything about what I got (OWVI). I was thinking about going over to Canada from Port Huron (NOT Detroit) and wondering if I'll have to pay anything, or not have to worry at all.

I'm also not driving, and wondering if that'll make it any better.

Yes, you have to worry. A crime is a crime, and there OWVI is not much different than a DUI, and when you cross the boarder they treat it the same as shoplifting, break and enter, or whatever.

And no, when crossing the boarder it is that you have criminal convictions, doesn't matter how you enter, driving or not driving, etc.

It all falls within the criminally inadmissible section of Canadian regulations, and details are at this link.
