Just because you reformatted doesnt mean the second partition you created isnt there, its still being seen as a partition!

ok... first of all,,,, do you want to keep both os's on your machine??? because haveing two os's on one machine will make it buggy. and trust me, the buggy's wont' go away until you delete both of the existing partions and create a new one.... that means, save all your files to disks,,, and reload windows visa. put the disk in, and turn the pc off..... then restart it and don't touch it until it asks you to answer questions.... you want to compeltely erase the first existing partitions. create a new one, and then once your os's running correctly, get into device manager and download all of your missing drivers for your sound and monitor etc...... trust me,,, this has worked for me.

don't folllow the directions on the folder that the disk comes in... that is to create an additional partition, and will just recreate your problems....

if you dont want to get rid of the exisitng partition, then youlll have to live with the bugs... sorry, dude... hope this helps...

good luck!!!

Do you even still have an operating system on your computer? You may have no choice but to put the disk that your computer came with to restore it. Sorry! Wait.. there is Emergency Windows XP Recover disks that will repair almost anything that has to do with the boot up. I made my own Setup Emergency disk so unfortuantely I have no reference of where you can get one. Sorry Again!

You need to rewrite the Master Boot Record (MBR).

Try booting with DOS
Run FDISK /MBR
Run FDISK and set the active partition for booting.

Or run Partition Magic or some other partition manager to reset the MBR.
