anywhere else. I don't want any other zip codes... I don't have the transportation to go and come and I need somewhere close to where I live - I need to complete 10 hours which might take me a few days.

I tired volunteermatch.org - but I couldn't find any in exactly my zip code - they're all these other zip codes 5-20 miles away.

HELP!!! I want to do this and get it over with on Christmas break, which I just started today because I don't celebrate Christmas and this is the perfect time - I'm super busy with HW on school days. My credit hours are due on March 23, 2006 btw.

THANK YOU ALL!

There are a lot of things you can do:
1) Call an agency that helps elderly people. Ask if you can get volunteer hours by calling someone who is homebound. Ask to be paired up with one person, and talk to them once or twice a week to get your hours.
2) If your parents will let you, ask an animal shelter if they will certify your hours through letting you foster an animal for a few weeks.
3) Go to www.guidestar.org and look up organizations with your zip code. I found a number of them: Alexian Brothers Sherwood Village, Feed My People, Trailnet, LeMay Child and Family Center: there are more than 100 organizations in your zip code.
4) You can also ask a local church or house of worship if you can help out and get service hours with it.
There's lots you can do! Good luck!

Why dont you volunteer at a local senior center on the holidays and the local food pantry(Food donation service). They could always use help. Sometimes they only need help a couple hour during the week and you might be able to volunteer once a week. You might need to to get the hours you need in.
