Although I do like some of the concepts of Christianity...not because they actualy are Christian but Christians have claimed them as thier own...like love and kindness. (HA)
I am not a Christian...but Jesus was a cool guy if in fact he was what the New Testament says...even though the New testament was written 400 years after Jesus dies...

Because we ARE sinners. The only truly holy person was Jesus.
The rest of us are animal human and no matter how we try, we screw up. God knows that and loves us anyway. There are no perfect humans. We strive to be God like but we fall very short of the mark. So you do the best you can do and leave the rest to him. Contrary to popular belief, Becoming a Christian does NOT make us saints or holy. It means we love God and will try and try and try to do the right things.
However we are still people, and people react, well, like people.. No perfect folks in the world.. We all poop the same way. Put our shoes on one at a time. We just happen to be loved by God and are blessed to love him.
Jesus is Lord.
And the fear thing is an interpretation of a Hebrew word. It doesn`t mean actual fear. More like respect and reverence. The language (of that time) is hard to interpret into today`s vocabulary.

well to start off with the new testament was not written 400 years after Christ"s death as you seem to believe. It was only Translated from the original Greek and Hebrew about that time. the new testament was written shortly after the death of Christ.
the answer to your question though is, Jesus is the son of God and although he is a separate entity he is one and the same. He is a part of what is called the Trinity. This includes the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.Jesus came as an offering to cleans us from our sins which The Father could not stand in his presence. so the fear of God comes from the Punishment we deserve. Jesus Our Lord has taken this punishment for us so we can stand in the presence of God.

Jesus is called Lord because Lord means "A man of renowned power or authority." Jesus is Lord of all creation. Jesus has the ultimate authority which is why he is referred to as Lord.
fear God because He is God and can do what he wishes anytime He wishes! Read the old testament!
Everyone is a sinner. Whether they choose to recognize that or not! Jesus died for our sins, but that does not mean that we are not sinners.

It is God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Fear God means to fall before Him in praise and admiration not the fear like fear of flying as an example.
All have sinned and fallen short...
As God forgives a sin, He wipes the slate clean.
He tells us to go and sin no more.m

By humbling yourself and admitting you are a sinner. You recognize that you are a sinner in need of salvation. You take that step of salvation by asking Jesus to save you knowing that you can't save yourself. This whole process is know as repentance. So in a nutshell, Christians are people who have repented of their sin. And have asked Jesus Christ to become their Lord. Hope that helps. There's a verse in the bible that says, ( can't pinpoint where at the moment) Anyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, anyone who humbles themselves will be exalted. get the picture.

Jesus is the only way back to the father, (God) Thus we have to follow him and and trust in him to be saved making him our Lord. Any one who does not fear (respect) God is a fool who will end up paying for their self centered pride.
