no I do not believe he did. if anything he helped unify Christian theology at the council of Nicea and allowed Christianity to become a legal religion in Rome, ending the decades of persecution. but my knowledge is limited in that subject. we do have thousands of letters the early church fathers wrote between each other before Constantine and when compared the theology of that time matches the theology of today so he had no impact on that at least.

According to the twisted view of Protestants, who need him to justify their totally unauthorized break from the true church, yes.

According to God, who prevailed upon him to end persecutions, and to set the stage for the ultimate Christian conversion of the entire western world ... absolutely not!

The conversion of Constantine and the eventual conversion of the Roman empire is simply proof that God is in charge, and that he can take the very instruments of his destruction, the Romans, the cross, and the spear, and turn them into blessings for all.

For the real truth, from the man who lived it and wrote it down for us, go here:

Not in my opinion, I think he just decided that we're going to celebrate Christianity on pagan holidays and define exactly what the Roman Empire believes by making a standard collection of scripture.

The whole 'edit the NT for political purposes!' Nicene Council!!!

Ending persecution in a religion where Jesus says 'expect to be persecuted' is not a good thing!!!
