There are thousands of scholarships out there for more than just sports and academics. There are scholarships based on religion, volunteering, college major, ethnicity, activities, hobbies, and more. Believe it or not, there is a scholarship for going to the senior prom in duct tape. I will provide free sources to locate scholarships out there.

First, FAFSA will help you tap into need based financial aid from the state and federal governments along with the college itself. It goes by both family income and resources.

Second, go to the high school guidance office if currently attending high school. They have a list of scholarships available to its students from local organizations and companies.

Third, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered by outside organizations and companies. Sometimes, a college major will have a list of scholarships related to its field, too.

Fourth, go to the local public library because they have a book listing college scholarships. Some of these scholarships are not listed on the internet.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on the information you enter into a form on its website.

Good luck!

Look into organizations in your city like Rotary, Masons, etc. Also try to be a do-gooder, they like that.
