Believe it or not, having been on 2 dates in 3.5 years is better than some men that I know. You don't have to be the best looking guy around to get a date or a girlfriend. Sure, looks always help, but girls want other things in a man. If you are intimidated, try dating on-line first. Talk to girls on-line. Once you develop a good on-line relationship, then meet. I met my husband on-line on a dating site before we met in person. We had such a great connection on-line, then we started talking on the phone. Then when it came time to meet, we had already won each other's hearts. We weren't the "best looking people in the world" either (I had extra weight and he was balding), but we found each other attractive. Today we are happily married.

First, you need to get over your inferiority complex. Girls may seem intimidating to you, but you need to build up some confidence and recognize that girls aren't out to criticize or condemn you... they're looking to have a good time just like you are. When they're on a date with you, they want you to be the one. They want you to be Mr. Right because then they can stop looking. It isn't a guys vs. girls thing at all, so there's no reason to be intimidated.
Plus, most girls will agree that confidence is a very attractive feature in a guy. Guys who like themselves (although not too much!) are generally perceived as better suited for relationships.
There's a whole lot more to finding a guy than just looks. Personality matters and how you treat the girl matters. Focus on that, and let them find out who you are inside.

Women are much less concerned about your appearance than you think.
Be well groomed, well spoken, considerate, charming and confident. That's much more important than physical good looks. I've known lots of good looking men that I wouldn't give the time of day to because I think they're such a**holes and other men who are not good looking at all but they've got a real sparkle and are very attractive because of who they are.
I can think of one man I know right now, he's at least 15 years older than me, two or three inches shorter than me (I'm only 5'4"), thin, wears glasses, has a receding hairline and all his teeth are caps...He doesn't have any particularly attractive features (except his smile) and if he were a mean SOB it would be easy to call him ugly...BUT - he's so confident and charming and funny and sparkley that he is quite appealing. Other women in our group have commented on how attractive he is as well.
Try focusing on and thinking about your positive qualities and skills. This will make you feel better and if you keep doing it over the next weeks and months will start to become your new default behavior and will automatically build your confidence.

The above answerers are correct in my opinion. Confidence in yourself is the key - you will be amazed how many guys are attractive soley because of there attitude - i don't mean brazen and cocky, but possessing some self worth will go a long long way!
You don't have to be "good looking" by magazine standards - there are afterall only a handful of models out there. But surely there must be something about yourself you really like - great eyes, great hair, nice smile etc... try to focus on that instead of any negatives about yourself you see. Your attitude really will make a huge difference.
Best of luck! :)

It's not really about being the best looking. It's how you carry yourself. Walk and talk with confidence. Are you clean cut?..meaning do you dress nice and not look like a slob or nerd? You don't have to wear anything expensive just something that looks neat. Most importantly be yourself and don't be afraid to talk to girls. Not every girl you approach will be into you and that's okay. Dust yourself and try again. Don't be scared just get out there and talk to them.
Good Luck

Be yourself and Be confident. I cant express this enough. A woman is attracted to a mans personality. To his confidence. I should rephrase that...a GOOD woman is attracted to whats on the inside. Your character. But being timid and scared is a big turnoff.
You need to work on your self esteem. Believe me..it is not all about looks.
There are a lot of good looking guys who are just downright ugly because they have a sour attitude.
Strut what you got.
Be happy, motivated, and caring.
