ok so this is 2006, and obviously you use the internet, right?! So..... have you thought about internet dating? I don't do the personals thing, but I went on www.hotornot.com about 4 months ago. I chatted with a few cute guys, nothing came of it, then this one guy and I just hit it off. Been dating two months strong, and he lives 4 hours away. I'm moving next week. It's off the wall, but the bars don't exactly have the best guys hanging out there.... Lived and learned :) Good luck!

Join clubs or groups that do things you are interested in. There are also lots of singles clubs.
I had lunch today with a delightful new friend who met her husband on a singles hike. It was the only time they'd ever participated with this group and they lived in such different circles they never would have met otherwise.
