My cat is about 15 or 16. I know it his getting to be his time. Since today, he tries not to walk. He finally ate somthing while I wasnt home. He seems to fall to his right when he tries to stand, but he does have some support on the right side.
I have heard either stroke, or pulled muscle ( I hope). Any thoughts?

Please get to a vet immediately. It sounds like you cat may have had a thrombo embolism (blood clot). This sometimes happens in cats with unrecognized heart disease, and the clot is typically lodged somewhere along the spine causing partial or total rear end paralysis. This is an extremely painful condition, if you have decided on euthanasia, please dont wait. If you are hoping to treat it, then the best chances for recovering function are if it is treated quickly and aggresively.

Honey sounds like a stroke to me. my cat is twenty years old now and about a year ago he had a stroke and was almost the same way. he is fine now. I know that i will have to face the day when he will not be with me but it will be the hardest thing i.ve faced in a long time. I keep him in the house at all times . It is easier on him and I can keep an eye on him. Good luck with your kitty. Aren't they the most precious creatures in the world. I love my dog to but i've had this cat for so long that is is like my child. I will pray for your darling kitty.I hope my prayer will make your cat better. Miracles do happen and who better than the Lord to create one. God Bless you and your baby.

More than likely a stroke that you didn't notice, but animals are very similar to humans. When humans have strokes their nerves end up dying and usually paralyzes a part of the body.
You can take him to the vet and they can possibly put him on some medication or maybe perform some surgery.
Hope everything goes well. Happy holidays

You really won't know until you take your cat to a vet. You could be right about a stroke, but it could be something as simple as a broken toe and your cat could live another five years. There is no way to tell unless you have him checked out by your vet.
Good luck to you!

It could be a stroke or heart attack but it sounds more like old age. Look at his eyes, if they look different, duller or redder than most times it's more than likely time to have him put down. it's a hard thing to do but sometimes it's better that way. He might be suffering... best wishes, Merry Christmas...

It could be a stroke. Does he go outside? Maybe he was hit by a car.
Call your vet immediately. S/he is the only one who can diagnose what is wrong.

You need to take your cat to a vet as soon as possible. Find an emergency all night animal clinic if you have to. Get off the computer and go to a vet!

can be either of these, or just arthritis from his age. this weather will make him hurt. I'd take him to the vet. to know for sure. you must have taken good care of him to live this long. great job! hope he feels better soon. :)

I am sorry but I think you will have to have him put to sleep. It does sound like a stroke. Poor thing.

your cat is old and his organs are shutting down.
This happened with my cat Dingles she was 17 when we had to put her down but she was going to die anyway and I didn't want her suffering.
