in other words is it creating adolescent type behaviour with all this nationalist bla bla..which always leads to arms race and eventually finding victims like iraq and maybe venezuela ?

No, just the opposite. It is pop culture that is interfering with the execution of military operations. It is the juvenile feel good culture over a culture of substance. No sane person actually likes war, but the reality is that is sometimes it is far better than the alternative. The threat from Islamofacist is real, and won't go away with wishing. The only way it will go away is if it is decisively crushed and a reasonable alternative is established.

No. The U.S. is imperialistic and defensive because A) that was the inclination of the administration at the time and B) it has the military might and money to make it happen.
