I'm not sure if it is just the adolescent type behaviour. Back when the USSR disolved all of a sudden America had a huge army and no one to fight, so the general public for the first time realized that the could influence the rest of the world by deploying our troops with NATO, UN, etc peace keeping operations. This train of thought has led us to where we stand today, where if we believe something is wrong, we attempt to invade and fix it ourselves. This idealogy of "we can fix whatever is wrong where ever it is" is the primary reason for our troops having to fight any potential threat.

No, just the opposite. It is pop culture that is interfering with the execution of military operations. It is the juvenile feel good culture over a culture of substance. No sane person actually likes war, but the reality is that is sometimes it is far better than the alternative. The threat from Islamofacist is real, and won't go away with wishing. The only way it will go away is if it is decisively crushed and a reasonable alternative is established.

Maybe we should fly a plane into your house. I think you would change your mind about how serious the threat is against Americans. Terrorist day dream about killing all of us even you and your family.

No but you have been watching too much tv. I think we need a strong military because your argument is for those countries who would love to see us fail and take advantage of it. Thats why

we need a military because it's the nature of countries to try and expand. unless you want to become the property of others, you will learn to fight, forever.
