Well, honestly I had a blast when I was 17. I guess from the excitement of almost being 18 but without the responsibility. Life gets harder the older you get because you will be faced with more and more decisions, which are most of the time hard ones. But if you don't forget to have fun every once in a while then it'll be a good one.

I feel the same way every year on my birthday. I just recently turned 20 and was freaking out because I felt like it was the end of my childhood. What I will tell you about being 17 is to cherish it. More than likely big changes will start occuring in your life...are you graduating high school soon? That's a big deal. Along with that come career choices, opportunites to move out and continue your education, you know what I mean? If you have a significant other, you may be feeling pressure to go farther with them because you're getting older. Take things one step at a time. Don't stress out about turning 17, because honestly it's not an overnight change. Being 17 won't feel any differen than being 16, but people may start treating you more like an adult and trusting you more to make your own decisions since you'll be a legal adult soon. But more than likely big changes will be occuring soon, and you might want to start thinking about them so you can prepare accordingly.

Ummmm, you can get into rated R movies by yourself.
I don't think turning 17, or any age for that matter, is something you need to freak out about. Be excited, but don't freak out. Be happy and just live your life.

new things in life will always be a challenge, but you become more adept at handling it.
for me, being between getting a drivers' license and being of 'draft' age was not that spectacular a year.... but looking back on highschool days and that first job I realize what good fortune I had.
i hope you are in a safe and nuturing home where you can be exploring the freedoms that come with age and have some good guidance for the challenges you will face.
enjoy!

i'm not sure, but i think it gets harder when you're on your own, in your own house or whatever. but at 17, you're expected alot more than when you were 16 because you have to learn how to mature for the actual world for when you turn 18...no worries tho...right?

Nothing changed for me. I was nervous and worried about my future, going off to college and such. But I was worried before that too. 17 just means you're one year closer to being a legal adult.
