He came, apparently, to fulfill prophecy and speak the truth. Because He was rejected by many Jews, the seeming split between Judaism and Christianity occurred. Remember, though, that most of the original Christians were Jewish, though Jews might call them Christians because they apparently believed in Christ as God (see Catholic Church Fathers writings - especially on the Trinity).

So, we see that it is more like "what occured," rather than a goal.

Jesus is the way, truth and the light of the world.

The word "Christian" comes from the Greek word christianos which is derived from the word christos, or Christ, which means "anointed one." A Christian, then, is someone who is a follower of Christ. The first use of the word "Christian" in the Bible is found in Acts 11:26, "And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." It is found only twice more in Acts 26:28 and 1 Pet. 4:16. However, it is important to note that it is the true Christ that makes someone a Christian, not the Mormon one (brother of the devil), or the JW one (Michael the Archangel), the New Age Jesus (a man in tune with the divine Christ Consciousness), etc. The true Christ is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; 20:28; Col. 2:9; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 1:8): Jesus.

Not really. Others made one on his name long after he was gone. He had a far more reaching mission than what's been exaggerated about him. The true story is a lot simpler and at the same time a lot deeper and with more significance. There's a reason why he was in public view only for tree years. What little he said and did in those 3 years has been grossly distorted to make the monstrosity we know has been made on his name. Where he was before and where he went after it is a mystery known only to Initiates. He didn't give to the public every thing he knew, what little gave up was in parable and forbidding to his followers to give up any thing he tough them in private. to understand the story we have to read between the lines and very careful. Of course, we need something else.

No! God came to earth in the form of a baby born of a virgin, and was named Jesus. Jesus was here to spread the message of love, to teach people that heaven is obtainable if one truly desires heaven. To obtain heaven one must seek forgiveness, not only from God but those we have sinned against, we need to repent, and sin no more. We need to live our lives doing the will of God and not our own, and part of that will of God is following the Commandments and follow His Word. Jesus did not come to start a religion, but He did come to start a relationship with all who believe in Him.

Jesus came to earth to reveal the truth. He came to be an example to others and to die for our sins. God has had this planned in our premortal life. He had for this to happen. Jesus died for our sins and gave us the privilige and ability to repent. He didn't come here to start a new religion. Otherwise, everyone on earth today who believed in Christ would have the same religion. Not in today's world... not at all.

Its the wrong impression that Jesus created new religion... HE DID NOT..... it was his followers who started "creating" new religion using his name......Jesus come to this world to show us the:
1. Love of His father.
2. how to be a real person.
3. How to live our lives here in earth.
4. how to be human....

He came to reconcile the world to God and teach us the way to live by letting the Holy Spirit lead us in our lives as He did while alive as a human. He came to humble the mighty and empower the weak. Not a new religion to fulfill His Word to past and present generations. He was opposed to the organized exploitation of Jewish people by their religious leaders.

No he prayed to the same God of the Jews. His coming has been planned since Genesis, when his God told Satan in the garden of Eden that God is sending his seed which Satan will bruise in the heel and the seed will bruise him in the head.

I think he made it his purpose in life. I don't know if that was inevitably a good or bad thing when looking at the overview of the world.
