First time dogsitting for this dog.

The dog is young, but is big in size, and does have lots of energy.

I need to know anyway I can make her calm down, bitting hands, and preventing her to shredding my laptop to pieces.

Fro one thing put your laptop away you have been hired to do a job not play wiht your lap top.

Sesondly give the dog some exercise. Then give it something to chew and insist is lay dawn to do the chewing.

Don't EVER talk to the dog in an excited manner. Talk in low tones. Talk calmly. Don't hurry with your movements.

I have a Labrador and I had the same problems. To calm her down I started walking her more and taking her to the park for about an hour a day. I would let her run around and sniff things, we would play fetch and just run around for a bit. I also found her a friend and they would play at the park together. Once it got to be routine and she knew her play time and she calmed down a lot and only bugged me when it was play time. I also get her a few teddy bears to tear up in her spare time, it becomes a little messy but I rather clean up cotton then important papers she tries to tear up if she can't find anything else.
I also would ignore her when she teared up anything that wasn't hers as a punishment and it drove her crazy and then after a while she knew that my things are not to be touched.
The biting thing is still a problem its not as bad but she still does it. I try to give her things like the thick vacuum belts, rubber balls, toys and just hard rubber things for her to chew on so she doesn't kill my hand when she bits at it.

Ha....ha been here before. Yeah some dogs get all crazy when their owners are not around. What I would do is take the dog for a walk or throw a ball around in the back yard....you want to wear the dog out of it's energy. Usually after a walk or playing where they use up alot of energy they are tired and want to sleep. I hope this helps

I have a min pin and my dog is high on energy I swear. I keep joking saying she probably has ADHD or something because she runs around like crazy, jumps on and off the couch, plays with one toy after another, and it's so cute but other times it's bothersome (like when I have to study). To calm her down I bought her some toys, she plays with them fo a period of time. I play with her and her toys and that wears her out. I don't take her outside (1. it's winter and 2. she's a min pin).

If that doesn't work then I bought her a bone (she has most of her adult teeth in and she is 6 months), and that usually seems to do the trick. She just knaws on it, bits it. If your dog is too young for a bone then they sell puppy rawhide/treats. That's also another tool i'll use because it's a treat mixed in with rawhide and it takes a coupl eof hours to get through it and in the meanwhile I'll do my homework or clean.

You can find this in the toy section/rawhides at the pet store. Make sure you get the PUPPY because it's epecially made for their teeth and size.

Other than that puppies are just naturally high in energy and want to play and have fun. So you should try to wear your dog out, play with your dog, take her out on walks. My dog already broke a button off my laptop because I was trying to do homework and I was playing with her @ the same time it was cute, thank goodness for damage protection.

EXERCISE is the key! Take her for a nice long walk, or take her off leash to run around, if she's good off leash that it. Just exercise, exercise, exercise. If you exercise the dog she will be nice and calm. Not to much exercise that she gets sick though. I'm talking about an hour to an hour and a half walk or something like that.

Good luck! =D

OK, the best thing u can do is probably take them on a long, long walk or to the park until they are tired. do this 4 several days and every day after u do that the dog will be tired when it comes home and after about 4 days they will be calm and tired. thanks
