I've wanted a pet (any pet) for all my life and I was thinking about cats but I know friends with cats and they don't seem very friendly (unless they're hungry). Can cats love their owners back if we love them? hmmm.

I think for your first pet you should get a cat . They are easier to tack care of. Cats don't have to be let out in the middle of the night. If you work late or go out after work , you don't have to worry about rushing home to let it out . Pulse with cats you don't have to go out and pick up anything. As far a male cats spraying and females having kittens , have it spayed or natured, that wont happen.
I would recommend you get a kitten. We have a six month old female kitten, along with two older male cats. The other two were older when I got them . She was about 6 weeks old when we got her, from the first day we got her " Monkey" I held her as much as possible, talked to her said her name a thousand times. I find she is much more lovable , she follows me around the house, she talks to me ,she will come and sit in my lap or lay on the couch next to me. I find paying as much attention to them as kittens helps make them more lovable and better pets. Don't get me wrong the other two are wonderful and I love them very much

I will sugest to get a kitten & raise it like if it was your child. They are great companies. I have had more than a dozen of cats at a time. They all tend to be unique. I had a beautiful white cat once that will sit to watch tv. with me, will open the door, & wouldn't let anyone hit me. As soon as it will hear me scream or cry it would come running to my rescue & get ready to atack. I have had another one like her. I have others that I have spoil some like to play on the swing with my son & others just like to be pet. If you get a kitten make sure you pet it a lot & for it to be around other people so they wont be scare of humanes. They are much cleaner than dogs & so soft.

I have 4 cats 2 I got from the shelter and I can't pick them up and cuddle with them my other 2 were days old when my hubby found them and brought them home for me to care for, I bottle fed them and wrapped them up in a towel like a baby, I cuddled them all the time and now they are lap cats they will sit in your lap and demand your attention and sleep with you every nite, I wish my other 2 were like this so now I will only get small kittens if possible to bottle feed because then they think you are their mom.

If you go to a shelter observe which kitten will let you hold them they shy ones are better then the rambuncious ones for being cuddlers
