This would be for a new Apple lap top. It would also have to convert Word Perfect files to it. I have WP 10 on my old desk top and want to put everything on the new Apple.

Hi
You should try open office . It works with all major OS including MAC. Its similar to WP and MS word . The best part of it is that its TOTALLY FREE.

Regarding importing your previous WP files i dont think their should be any prob in doing so ( i m not pretty sure about it ) .
TRY it out the download size is around 100 MB only

I don't know the specific license terms for Word Perfect, but the typical license allows you to put one copy of the application on your desktop and one on a portable/notebook computer--ie, you can legally use the same copy on both. Definitely worth checking that out.

Or you could skip the software entirely and do your word processing online with http://docs.google.com
