Do other Christians think of ghosts and spirit guides as demons or familiar spirits sent to intice and deceive or is that just me?

I am tired of Sylvia Brown glorifying talking to dead people like there are here to help us. I believe when we die we don't have the luxury to stay on earth and to help people out. I do however, believe in angels and demons and I was wondering if other Christians feel that these "ghosts" are really demons too.

Sylvia Brown is almost as big of a turd as John Edward.

I'm Christian, and I have seen some pretty spooky stuff, but I don't believe that anyone can act as a conduit to the afterlife.

I don't know what spirit is good, which is evil, but I do know in my heart that there are some things that are beyond our comprehension and our faith.

I do know that all of these so called MEDIUMS are making a killing off of the misery of others. So I guess that you can consider Sylvia, and John evil.

I agree. I believe there are ghosts, demons, and other spirits here on earth ruled by Satan and that God has his Angels.

If Sylvia Brown does talk to the dead, then she is demonic herself.

There is no feel to it - only truth. Demons take on familiar figures that look like those that have passed to divert people away from the truth. Only two places to choose from...heaven or hell. There is nothing in between but if demons can cause doubt in that truth they are doing their job. Don't worry about Sylvia Brown, all things hidden will come to light soon.

The Bible says that dead people have no consciousness whatsoever. That means they could not be ghosts. Yes, demons pose as dead people because they want humans to believe the first lie that Satan ever told which was that they could disobey God and continue to live. Sad, isn't it, that some people still believe it??

Well, traditional christianity teaches that ghosts are not possible, because one is either in heaven or hell upon death. Those who believe this teaching, then must believe that ghosts are fallen angels or demons in disguise as loved ones.

An opposite opinion can be found at http://www.angelsghosts.com under "Spiritual Writings."

Best of luck in your search!

I agree with you, but the worldly people like her dont. Thats because they dont listen to God they way we do. Dont bend in your thinking and belief. Stay strong and know your right. As for Sylvia Brown, I NEVER watch her when she is on the Montel Williams Show or any other. I will not suport any show that suports stuff that goes against God. Like her and like some of the show hosts how opionly admit to being lesbians and gays.

in the bible it says that when we die we are gone and not to talk to the dead or deal with that kinda stuff. that's cuz demons can talk to us and pretend to be our loved ones etc because those demons can see us and can know about our deceased. It even says that the devil can appear as an angel of light so you have to be careful with those things. Unless it's one of God's angels, which can come to encourage his peopel then I'm not having that angel, i'm going to tell him to go away, in his name of course. just look in a bible at the back to refernces those thigns

To the best of my knowledge, the Catholic Church does not rule out the existence of ghosts.

But Catholic Church teaches:

All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future.

Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers.

They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

With love in Christ.

I`ve never seen a ghost.I do believe in the Holy Ghost,Holy Spirit.
The word says that when we die our spirit goes back unto God from which it came.Yes I believe in Angels. There are good Angels and there are bad.We can`t see them ,but they can show them selves to us if they want to in the form of man.The word says not to turn away someone from our door in need as we might be entertaining Angels unawares.

Sylvia Brown says that "we are the dead and the ones that have passed on are the living, they are in eternal life, we are not.
