Sounds like you have the makings of a good poem right there. You've already taken the time to put your feelings into words. If you just add a tiny bit of structure, you'll have a wonderful freestyle poem. Take the same paragraph and put a few rhymes in, and now you've got some light-hearted prose.
If you look up Iambic Pentameter, and have the time, you can turn that thoughtful paragraph into a Sonnet. Poetry is what you make of it. The more you feel, the better it is. Best of luck to you.

The day you walked into my life, my world completely changed
I fell so deep in love with you, as if it was arranged.
the things that used to make me sad, no longer come to light
anytime that you're around, the world just seems so right.
You bring me so much happiness,You taught me to laugh again
You're more than just a lover, you're also my best friend.
I wish I could take you by the hand, to our own special place
where time stands still and I can hold you, forever in an embrace
I never once believed in love, but now I know it's true
because I'm in love and feel so happy and I owe it all to you.

How about this beautiful love poem, found on the Internet?
When I'm around you
I feel so happy,
almost like a kid.
We play around so much;
we laugh way too much.
We make fun of each other and make fun of life.
When I'm with you i forget about
anything that was bothering me.
I care about you so much.
I wish we could just have our own little world.
You're the best friend i've found yet,
I love you and want to be around you as much as i can--
make you happy,
buy you things,
and be touched by you.
Hugs or kisses -- it doesn't matter.

Sometimes when I take a look
at the hectic world around me,
I feel confused,
but all of the noise fades away
and I forget my worries
when I think about you.
Sometimes I feel ovewhelmed by life,
and sometimes I don't know what to do,
but everything suddenly feels right
when I hear your voice,
and see the light shining in your eyes.
Even if I gaze into a crystal ball,
I'll never see and understand it all,
but I know that I'd be lost if you went away.
I'd forever seek brighter days.
Thank God for you.

...But first, a hush of peace, a soundless calm descends. The struggle of distress, and feirce impatience ends. Mute music soothes our rest, unuttered harmony, that I should dare to dream, 'till ur soul was lost to me.
Then dawns the invisible, it's unseen truth revealed, our outward sense is gone, our inward essencs feels, it's wings are almost free, it's home it's harbour found. Measuring the gulf, we dare to leap the final bound.
Oh Dreadfull is the check! Intense the agony! When the eye begins to feel, and the mind begins to see, when ur pulse will cease it's throb, and the brain to think again, the soul will feel the flesh, and the flesh will feel the chain.
