Should I consider registering? I've never connected with anyone online before meeting them in person. I know its not as safe to do this but I am thinking about this because I want to be with someone on New Years. Haven't been dating for awhile. Any advice?

Honestly is it any more dangerous than meeting someone in a bar? In this day and age we are all so connected I don't really see how meeting someone online is weird, or dorky. You don't truly know anyone until you spend a lot of personal time with that person, and the time you may spend at a bar before deciding to hook up does not mean you know this person. I say go for it, what do ou have to lose, just like anything else out there be careful..

It can be good or bad, just like real life. It's a great way to meet people who you would normally never run into. However, meet in a safe place the first few times. Always make sure a friend of yours knows where you will be going. I've done it before and like most relationships, it was good for a while and then went bad. There's lots of creeps out there, but nice people are out there too!

I am currently dating someone that I met online. Its going great so far!! But we chatted on the phone for a good month and a half before we ever met. Then we were just friends for a few more months before we started dating. I had to take the time to find out about him. I wanted to know what I was getting myself into.

Just go for it...but make sure someone knows you are meeting them, make sure you meet them in a public place with lots of people around, and carry some pepper spray or something! I've met a couple of people from offline and it's always been fine, but know you can't trust anyone...always be on your guard.
