Any truth that was in there has been long obscured by the lies that preachers and others slipped in.

Many of the scriptures contradict, which is why the vatican edited and changed the bible before releasing the "official" version a millenia ago.

Would God really hinge our salvation on the acceptance of a doctrine that exists in such a book. Created and maintained by a church that hides pedophiles, persecutes homosexuals, lies about condom use, and places women beneath men in relation to god?

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God does not change. People change but God does not. Some people may change the Word when they try to play God and translate from His original Words. But remains the same. The Word of God does not contradict. That is why the Word of God says that we should study to shew thyself approved. If you we to study the Bible as you would any other book, you would find the answers you seek. And then you would find that each instance supports the next. You will also be enlightened about the other topics you have stated here. May God Bless

I agree with you in your observation but something you did not notice (if ever you really read the Book and understand it which I doubt). There are words there that they thought to be less important and they did did not change, abridged and translated to be abused but misused and unused enough to bring them down. You do not need to flush a holy book. You can use it to flush the deceivers down. they are the 666 and they are great in hiding. Do not underestimate the power of deceptions by the devil. They created a big lie until they themselves believed so much in their own lies that victimized the whole world. Their days are numbered. www.thename.ph

Don't confuse the Bible with religion and theology. I personally believe the Bible is useful, but I take offense to those that worship the Bible instead of the inspiration.

Christianity survived for quite some time without the text.

Of course, why ask a question when you've already made up your mind on the answer?

Hear Hear!

I do believe in seeking out what feels right to you on a spiritual basis. I was a lost and very troubled sheep (christain) for many years the I had an awakening and found out that there is alot of truth (for me) in nearly all forms of spirituality. The most common thread I have found is to be good loving and kind. I think we reep the rewords for being kind while we are living. Ever done something really loving and kind for someone who didn't expect it? That feeling that comes from being a good >>Loving <> Kind<> Generous person ,just rocks! To me that feels awesome. Makes me want to do it again and again

You will believe what you want to believe. The only thing that I personally tell you is that God changed my life. I was always trying to put buts and excuses as to why I didn't believe in God or the bible until I just surrendered to him. Not to a church, preacher or anything you want to call it, but to God. Man will always fail you, but God will never leave you nor forsake you. Alot of times we want to blame God for all the bad things that happen, but there is sin in this world also. Why not pray and ask God yourself.

That's why you should read it for yourself and not depend on the Vatican or a pastor to tell you what it says. Read the Bible, starting in the New Testament so that you will understand the Old Testament.

Do you think that God would be so cruel that he would leave us here on Earth with no instructions to live by?

The KJV Bible was directly translated so read that version or the New KJV.

Good luck and God bless.

I have at least a dozen different translations, and I have access to the original text, and I have found no significant differences in the meaning of the text. Certainly words have been changed to accomodate changes in the spoken language of the day, but I have found no real meaningful inconsistancies in all the different translations that I have.

If you research the history of the Catholic church.. you will find that there were Christians and eventually broke off from the Christian sector and created all this other stuff about worshiping Mary and other saints.

The word of God is still true and the signs of the times prove it. You must be saved, repent of your sins, be baptized in Jesus name and seek for the Holyghost. There is no pergatory

As long as the message of Jesus coming to pay for our sins is there and the eleven commandments it's saving power will continue. BTW God would not allow any vital messages to be critically changed anyway in His book.

First you have to separate Church from Religion.

The mainstream Espiscopalian Church made a Woman head of the Church and made a pracisting homosexual a Bishop in the church.

So you have your choices, as you do with copies of the Bible.
