Hmm, why do I suspect that you are using Yahoo Answers simply as a forum to post your anti-Christian rhetoric and hate-filled liberal gibberish rather than asking an intelligible and thought-provoking question?

in this world we are presented with so many "facts" that contradict each other. To me it doesnt seem like you can truly distinguish the BS from the real truth because we're fed both of them together 4 so long and they're are little distinction between the 2. so when u say that Christians dont defend their beliefs with "actual facts" maybe they're actual facts but u've chosen to labeled it as BS.
what im trying to say is we truly dont know nething because most of what we know is just told to us and we believe some and we dont believe others, but all that decision making is based on our core beliefs. so someone who isnt a christian has simply lable the facts that support it false. and christains lable things taht contradict christianity false.
People will believe what they want to believe.
my answer to ur question is ppl who give christians a bad reputation at defending their faith have either encountered a christian lacking intelligence, has little knowledge of christian doctrine, or the information the christian is giving is not accepted as truth by both parties of the debate.
there is much more to this question than meets the eye, and u deffinatly cant just state that "Christians for the most part are just simple folks they may not be the smartest or the most educated but they work hard and make a attempt to defend their beliefs which is not based on any actual facts but they whole lifestyle depends on faith not facts" because about 1/3 of the population of the world is supposedly christian and i seriously doubt uve meet that many people

Some people call themselves "Christians" because they believe in a higher power and/or believe in Jesus the Christ. However, this is not enough which is why they can not explain or defend anything. Just being a good person is not enough for God. We MUST read, study and live the Bible. It's God's (Jehovah) guide for us to live by. His rules, examples, explanations, commandments, prophesies, promises, and miracles, are in there. Jesus' life is chronicled in the New Testament, which we are told to follow. Jehovah God is very specific about how He wants us to live, and what He wants us to do. Those of us choosing His way will live for all eternity. Those of us that disobey will not. It's that simple.

Firstly, some of us are quite capable of defending our faith, as you put it. However, lots of times we will give answers and people will say they're not good enough, or don't make sense according to a system we don't even follow, or work with what everyone else believes... And so on and so forth. Well, bless you and have a good night.

Because everybody knows that they are not defending what they really believe.--They're defending what they WANT to believe,--because they think it will work to their advantage. They are spiritual opportunists.
Someone told them that all you have to do is BELIEVE ,(in some silly stories ) ,and they get a big free ticket to PARADISE.
They are not interested in being "good people".
They rarely even mention ethics, or morality.
They only want to be perceived as "good people".
They believe that they're smart enough to fool ,even ,their own god.

Nobody should have to defend their religion. It is part of what our country was founded for. Religious persecution. everyone should just respect everyone else and stop trying to change people to their beliefs.

We don't suck at defending our faith. Also "we" are not all the same. There are "christians" who call for a Crusade and the murder of others in the name of Jesus. They hate the way Jesus never fathomed possible. that's not defending one's faith, that's warping and destroying it.

I think it's because Christians haven't given their faith enough study and reflection. Check our Ravi Zacharias (rzim.org)... he's one that I respect as he is able to articulate well.

The main reason is Christians do not follow Christ's examples of loving everyone and are judgmental...they like to preach to one and all and threaten you with hell, even though their own lives, thoughts, and deeds are far from perfect.
I love Christ....it's his followers I have a problem with.
