Maybe its because you were friends before? Im assuming this is your first time with him so maybe your worried about what he will think or how it will be? I wouldnt let it worry you...if your feeling like its the wrong time or wrong person dont do it. You cannot overcome feelings of doubt. Think about it more before you jump in. If hes a great guy and you love or care for him then it might work out and If your both relaxed and comfortable everything will be great and you should consider it. Make sure hes the right one, you dont want to regret any hasty desicions!
Good Luck (remember protection)!

Assuming that you are old enough, legally and emotionally, then the most important thing is to relax. The first time can be nerve-wracking. There is so much anxiety... to do well, to not screw up, to not look like you don't know what you are doing, etc.
An important first step that will ease a lot of tensions is to tell him that you are a little nervous. "A little nervous and a little excited" is not a bad phrase. This is a pivotal moment in your relationship. If he helps to put your fears at ease and proceeds slowly its a good sign of how he will treat your relationship in the future. If he gets angry or upset with your for your feelings, it does not speak well for your future together. Start with open and honest dialogue and you will be pleasantly surprised. Best of luck to you both.

Did you ever think that your gut instinct is trying to tell you don't do it. I am 44 and i have been with many women. When it's right you will know it and you will not be nervous. Maybe your just not ready.

If it doesnt feel right dont do it, especially if you are young, it should be with someone you are totally in love with and whom you really want to share a special moment especially if its your first time, trust you always remember your first I remember fondly, I have friends who do not... Its all instinct and how you feel.
And I am hoping you are a bit older and not very young...

Wait till your wedding night. What's the rush? You have your whole life ahead of you, and if you're that nervous, the time isn't right, anyway.
