But I want to give her something other than a giftcard, cause then its basically like I am giving her money...I guess I should have asked what would you get a mother if she'd rather prefer money over presents, but you didn't want to give her money or a gift card?...

just give her money , that way she can buy what she wants or needs

Go for a gift card. But just to make her absolutely happy, don't buy one for a specific store or restaurant, buy one of the Visa gift cards. That way you can put as much on it as you want, and she can use it anywhere they accept Visa cards. Now she can shop/eat at more than one place. It gives a lot of choices.

Give her a Visa gift card. You can pick the design of the card, so it's a little more personal. It's just as good as cash, you can use it anywhere that takes Visa.

It is your present / your choice. Unless you like giving money I would continue to give presents, just put a bit of thought into what you choose and try and wear her down so that she looks forward to your treats...
