I hope so!
Not all Christians believe that. But they do seem to be the most vocal ones.
Christ taught us to love, but sometimes people get caught up in intolerance and legalisms and forget that.
By the way!
The Episcopal Church welcomes you!

I've had many conversations with my church about gays in the religous community. From what i learned- catholics/christian catholics are saying that the reason gays are bad are because we're supposed to fullfil 3 things according to the Bible and that is to spread the word, love one another, and reproduce. Technically according to this- to men or women can't reproduce together, thus not being able to fullfil the word of God. It is because of this that people have twisted the words and made this statement a hateful and ugly thing. I have learned in my church that we should NEVER not stop helping gays but support the gay community. We discussed that it isn't wrong just interpreted diffrently. I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck in the future!!

Yeah, well, that's SOME christians. Those who don't know any better.
You are absolutely right in that hate kills. There should be no room for hate in any area.
As far as the bible goes..........yes, it says that homosexuality is wrong, but there are many wrong things that are done in this world. There is no one who is perfect. We all sin. And it is not our place to judge what sin is worse than another. I am not saying that it is OK to consiously go on sinning, but I am saying that every one of us does consiously and unconsiously sin. We are in no authority to judge ANY sin.
As far as AIDS being sent to wipe out homosexuals...........that is just rediculous of anyone to assume that.........christian or not. If that were the case, why do inocent people, such as babies, contract AIDS? And why do wives, or husbands, unknowingly contract it from a scum bag spouse who brings it home to them after running around doing what they shouldn't do with whom they shouldn't be doing? And why have inocent people such as nurses or doctors accidentally contracted AIDS from a prick or scratch of a contaminated needle? No, in the bible days when God wiped out a group of people for some reason, he didn't take the innocent out too.
I don't believe God sees one sin as worse than another. Sin is sin. And I KNOW that God does not want to rid Gaays. I personally have a very good friend who is Gaay.........and guess what? He is a christian! :)

Where do you get the idea God wants to rid gays?
Without the union between a man and women, Christians can not reach there highest potential in heaven, because the bible says a man shall not divorce his wife for any reason except adultery or fornication.
Acting on homosexual impulses many Christians have will violate that union and break that commandment.

It's not that God wants to get rid of you, He loves you. However it does say in the Bible that any relationship between the same sex is a sin. Does not mean though that he doesn't love you, nor does it mean that Christians should be horrible to you either. I am a Christian and I have friends that are gay. It's who they are and I love them just the same, because part of being a good Christian is to love they neighbor and thy enemy.... I don't consider any of you my enemies, you are all my neighbors and therefore I stand by your decisions because in the end we are all made of God and his image; truthfully I can not see why He would create gays, lesbians, mothers and fathers without knowing we should all love one another.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

Well see they say jesus is the way , and that might be, But what sucks is there hypocritical ways of judging what is different than them. So stupid really for a sin is a sin in gods eyes so if those christians are being anything other than perfect what the hell do they care if someone is gay or not???? Grrrrr seek to find a god of your own understanding, don't rely on christians to save you. They are the lost souls the bible speaks of.

The AIDS epidemic in Africa is the direct result of the actions of those people that fail to use common sense. Having sex with your brothers wife while the husband goes to work in the city is common and accepted, and the ONLY place in the modern world where this is an acceptable practice - as well as the only place where heterosexual activity is the main cause of the spread of the disease. It is estimated that over 50% of all women in Central Africa are infected now, and they are not having GAY SEX! Wake up!

It is my opinion and belief and teaching that God loves us all. He is no respector of persons and when He GAVE his son, Jesus to the world, it was for the purpose of showing us love in its greatest and highest power. Beyond any love we have ever known. I have been taught that though God loves us all - because He created us in his own image - the sin we commit is not what he loves. He wants us to change, to learn the purety of his love and desire to live life to its abundance without the sinful decay that leads us to death. God loves gays. He does not love the acts that we all do that His son died for. ALl sin is against God - no matter who the person is. So, God does not love the sin - only the person and because Jesus died for the sin - we are given another chance to reconcile ourselves to the family of God and turn from the wickedness of sin. We have a choice. Every man has a choice. And the faith that we have through the spirit of God allows us to make the changes that are necessary in order to walk in his light.

no, because christians deceive themselves into thinking they actually are friends with god, and know the score. as if... the worst criminals in life are the hypocrite religions, not the homosexuals.
I am straight, and I dont hate gays, so I cant imagine the reason for religious believers who follow a god would have to hate gays. if you believe in a god, you are nothing but the speck of dust, and your views should stay nuetral, as we could never know a gods dreams for us. the thoughts of a god would overwhelm us, so we therefore only guess. and religions that love to hate, are guessing for their own fears.
dont live your guilt based on christian worldviews, they are wrong for hating. live your life based on what is joyous to you, and as long as you live safe, life will be good to you. live a real life being who you are, not a false one listening to others.

that depends on the individual remember we are all sinners god came for the lost the sinners but we are all sinners we can repent of our sins and be christians but once we do that we nust have self control! and not sin anymore that includes being gay, cheating on your spouse ect...is in the ten commandments and for those who believe that we don't have to fallow the commandments remember jesus said that the greatest command is to love your god with all your heart and all your soul..that part of the ten commandmants!!! jesusu still fallow all the commands...good luck!
