That is entirely up to you. I don't think most workers do.
I know I don't get my boss a gift. He always gets a card.

No. You are barely there! Unless you really like your boss and are almost or really friends, then it would be a friendly gift not a worker gift. I have worked full-time for many years and have only given a few bosses gifts....and those were for the ones I considered my friends. Also, as a part-timer you do not have to contribute to the office pool of money for a bosses gift...or you can contribute less. I have never given more than $5. I hate pools anyway...I can do so much more with $5 than most people can do with $15 so I would rather do my own thing.

No. I have contract workers and I don't expect anything from them. In fact just the opposite. Drop the word need , do you want to give the boss something for Christmas?

A Christmas Card would be appropriate, but nothing more is necessary.

But I would not purchase anything more than a box of chocolate or a pair of socks, if you do decide to go beyond that.

An appreciation for giving you the chance to work for him may be a good idea rather than an expensive piece which might be mistaken for something else.

You dont need or have to,but you will show a respect if you give your boss something small and not too expensive.

Even if you are a full time worker you don't need to. Some companies even forbid it.

Think of what his face would look like if you gave it to him/her and he didnt get you anything. Exellent jesture, but unless you know he/she got you anything, you mite embarrass him/her more than anything. I hate it when someone gets me something and I didnt get them anything.
