The other leads to hate, violence and revenge.

Let's say you see a friend shoplifting.
You were brought up to believe that loyalty to friends is highly honorable and that theft is wrong.
If confronted by a security guard would you lie to save your friend or be honest about what you saw?

Honestly, sometimes I'd rather be right than have things work. The lovely thing is that I have the freedom and the power at every moment to choose something different.

The best option that I've found is to speak the truth of what I'm doing when I'd rather be right, because as soon as it's said it changes. I don't care so much about being right any more.

And, honestly, caring more about being right than being honest isn't "right" at all, so it's self-defeating.

Being honest includes being honest with myself - not always all that easy (although it's simple) because it involves me taking responsibility for my feelings and thoughts as well as my actions - in other words, knowing that it isn't the other person, it's me.

It's a whole lot easier to be "right", and sometimes I'm lazy.

That's as honest as I know how to be about this subject.

Honesty,As in this forum I always answer a question with what I believe even if I know the asker won`t agree.I do my best not to cause conflict but I have to answer questions with what i believe to be the truth. Its nice to be picked as the best answer but that isn`t why I`m here.I love to talk about God and I love to read questions and answers that are looking for truth.

Love of God and loyalty to Him requires that we be honest in all things. Sometimes, that means we should simply keep our mouth shut rather than lie. Best to choose your friends wisely and consider how they feel about God and representing Him well before you decide to get real close to them or spend lots of time with them. Bad association spoils useful habits--including honesty.

HONEST. At all cost. Those around me have learned not to ask my opinion unless they really want an honest answer. I'm not sarcastic or anything when I answer. I just don't tickle anyone's ears though.

Be Blessed.

I'll take forgiveness and reconciliation anyday. :)

I think you can be right and honest at the same time. If I say, "I don't know everything and I'm imperfect", then I am right and I am honest. They are not mutually exclusive.

If you mean "right" as in superior than no I think honest is better.

It really doesn't matter if your right now does it.
I mean no one cares if you are ,or not ,just you.
Its much more important to be honest
honesty will get you further in life than being right.
Just think about it no one wants to be around someone who thinks they are right all the time, its unnerving.
but if your honest people will respect you for who and what your about, and you are trust worthy.

Being honest is much more important. We are only human and cannot be perfect. We are supposed to learn from our mistakes and hopefully become better people.

God Bless you and Merry Christmas.

both are bound to truth and one chooses either positive or negative as in truth or falseness I prefer to honestly find what is right and that which stands for life not death. I seriously have no inkling of what your question was supposed to mean. I consider right determined by truth not might.
peaceout

they are exactly both the same if you look at it and think about it very closely. Well in a sense without been honest you cannot be right but in a sense without been ignorant you cannot be right. Well in a sense without been right you cannot be honest but in a sense without been honest you cannot be ignorant!
one could be brutally honest
one could be brutally righteous
one could be a mixture of honest and right
one could be a mixture of been brutally honest and brutally righteous
one could do right, for his/her own sake
one could be honest, for his/her own sake
one could do right for his/her own selfishness
one could be honest for his/her own selfishness
one could be right for power
one could be honest for power,
and the list goes on and on.

First be honest, then one is right. If one aims for right, the temptation to migrate to self-rightoeusness is very strong.
