I've been trying to answer this question for years. Truth is, I don't think there is any certain way except "You will know when you know."
From what I hear, if you have to ask this, then you were never in love..

You become anxious when you hear their voice,age makes no difference,when you appreciate their imperfections,when they bring you up when you are down just by being present,you tell all your friends about them, when they're the greatest lover,when you stare at them while they sleep,when you know their favorite food or restaurant, when they leave for a while it sucks (something is missing),when you have a "song", when you can just stare at each other's eyes for no reason and love the moment,when you hurt because they hurt,when they say I'm sorry and it's enough,when you know each other's dreams,when you don't mind who their best friend is,you don't want to be with anyone else,friends ask "when's the wedding?" When you have plenty of pictures of both of you together and in an album, when you buy a dog or cat together, when you stay up late talking on the phone

You just know...I don't believe in love at first sight because you can't love a person that you don't know inside and out...When people say it was love at first sight I think that it is just lust. Love is something so special, this is the person that just the sound of their voice makes you weak in the knees, someone who can make you smile without even saying anything. It's amazing trust me you will know

when u have a strong feeling for someone and have to be around them all the time, and u can truly be yourself around them and know that they wont' care and they will be themselves and u wont' care and u'd do anything for them and give ur life for them
It's not when you just THINK about someone all the time. i think about this guy all the time that i ♥ but I don't love him, I just like him. I'm not in love with him, even though i do really like him and i would do anything for him and always be there for him, but still

Life has brighter colors for one...you smile more, you feel an addiction to just talk to the other person. And if you ask yourself if you would be the same without the other, and you realize that other person is that important...then yes, I would say that you are in love. : )

You know when ur in love when you're actually freaked out, but glad you are. when you smile at their name and when you try to describe them your brain freezes as the grin forces itself out (unless of course if they're unavailiable - then you start cryin). Anyway, rarely is it that anyone can really love when they hardly know the prson so if you don't know them all that well then you're probly not.

well that's an easy question. ok. well ur heart will tell u. if u look at a girl, ur heart will tell u if u love that person or not. it's real weird huh? ur heart will choose 4 u. it will find out there personality and it will love there good looks. ur eyes will lay opon that person, which will send a single saying, is he in love?? then ur heart will tell u

When you are in love is when there is someone you really like and every time you see that person your heart starts to beat really fast. and if your lucky he or she loves you back!

When you can't stop thinking about the person. You think of them all the time and start imagining what your future would be like with them; what it would be like to be married to them or have children one day with them. You ask yourself whether or not that person would like what you're wearing because you want to impress them and you start thinking about places to go or things to do with that person.
You also begin worry about the person and want to make sure that they're safe at all times.

When you're sure you're in love. Seems like a no-brainer. It's not exactly something someone could tell you. It's up to you to know for yourself.
